Toddler sports camp started today. The kids go every Tuesday for an hour. Today was the first day...basketball. Tessa follows all the instructions the coach gives. Owen needs a little work. They are having fun & that is what matters.

Wanted to do something kinda fun with the big kids before Daddy had to go back to work after taking time off for baby's arrival. So...we took the kids bowling! It was ridiculously cute. They had so much fun. They could've stayed for hours. I forgot the camera, so here is what Cory captured on his phone.

Owen = Sweet Boy

Since bringing little Silas home, we've noticed that Owen seems to be thriving in his role as a big brother. He told me yesterday, "Daddy, I'm a Big Brother now, I can do things all by myself." The first thing he asks when he gets up in the morning or from naps is to see his brother.

Although he loves on his Little Bro, it is painfully obvious he is still best buddies with his Big Sister. The 3 of us were playing in the basement when Tessa had to run upstairs to get another doll for our "party." As Owen and I sat there and waited, I asked him if he liked playing things and doing things with Tessa. I hoped that the answer was yes, as we have them paired up for sports camps and a lot of other activities this summer! The little guy's response was priceless, he looked at me and sincerely said in his deep little boy voice, "Daddy, I want to do everything in the world with her." Such a sweet little fella.

The much-anticipated Vacation Bible School started today! The kids were SOOO excited! Especially Owen. We used "going to bible camp" as potty-training incentive back in March - and it worked cuz he gets to go! He was sooo excited to put on his shirt. As he was getting his shoes on, etc. he says: "I can't believe I get to go to bible camp!" Bless his little heart!

1st Family of 5 Outing

Our good friend from California, Rob Espero comes to town every summer while working with the USA Volleyball tournament. We had our first outing as a family of 5 to go have lunch with him. We kept it low-key and picked up sandwiches & ate in his hotel lobby. Was nice & quiet (except for our big kids running around). Great to see you Rob!

Gifts From Baby Brother

Kids got a little spoiled with new bikes as gifts from baby brother Silas! We got home yesterday & Owen kept asking non-stop for his gift. Today was the day. Although, Owen's bike is called a Strider bike, and as you can see, it has no pedals. It was recommended by our pediatrician to help with some of his large motor skills, balancing and strength. (Maybe some residual uneven balance/strength things from when he had his Doc Band & was in physical therapy.) He is learning & can keep up with sister much better than on the tricycle. We'll see how it goes.

She was thrilled with her obnoxious princess bike. When did this girl get so big?

Garage sales are great. Your friends' garage sales are even better cuz you KNOW the stuff came from a good, clean home. Some friends of ours with 4 kids are moving to Texas, so we hit-up their garage sale. Kids each got to pick-out one dress-up item. Tessa chose Minnie Mouse (over a pink Aurora dress even!) and Owen chose Buzz Lightyear wings with buttons that have Buzz's voice (pretty cool). Kids are happy, Mom is happy.

Recital Costume Is Here!

Today was the day...recital costume had FINALLY come in! I did not cry this year, but I wanted to because it was the WRONG SIZE! I guess the costume company was entirely out of size Smalls, so they sent in 8 Mediums just so the girls could have something to wear for pictures this weekend. Then, hopefully the correct size will be in before recital on June 11th (although I'm not holding my breath).

Although it wasn't PINK!, she seemed somewhat pleased with it. Her ballet song is You Are My Sunshine (or something like that) and her tap song is Put On A Happy Face, so at least it matches the numbers.

It is a cute costume, I just need to find a way to make it fit her!! Agh! Oh, the life of a stage mom. haha

Apparently, today, I am the best mom ever. I found this cute idea on a blog I frequent & decided to give it a try. Take an old makeup compact, clean it out, pour in nail polish, let dry & give to your daughter. She played with this thing a.l.l.d.a.y. She even said "Thank you so much mommy for the makeup you made me" about 20 times today. Feels good to be the best mom ever...even if just for a day.
